The three passes do different jobs

Use Disney's official product guide and the app for current participation and prices. Premier Pass is not necessary to have a good park day. None of these passes replaces park admission or guarantees an attraction will operate without interruption.
When your purchase window opens
Purchases begin at 7 a.m. Eastern on your first eligible day. The hotel and ticket need to be linked to the correct Disney account beforehand.

Choose a valid first set
Multi Pass advance choices follow the park's selection groups. Read those groups before building your ideal list. Three attractive rides are not necessarily three choices the system will let you reserve together.
Start with the ride that matters most. Choose the other selections around the same part of the park and your meal or break schedule. You can see available experiences and arrival windows before completing a purchase, so use that information rather than buying on a promise from an old itinerary.
An early first selection can be useful because it lets you look for another sooner. A late-arrival family may prefer a later start. Don't reserve a ride at the far end of the park merely to unlock another selection; the extra walking may defeat the purpose.
Book again after the first redemption
After using the first Multi Pass selection, check for another available one. You don't have to finish all three advance selections first. Continue checking after subsequent redemptions.
With appropriate Park Hopper admission, additional same-day choices can be in another park, subject to availability. Include the transfer before selecting the return time. A booking across the resort is not useful if you cannot comfortably reach it.
Disney limits Lightning Lane access to one entry per attraction per day per pass. Single Pass purchases are limited to two per day. These are not unlimited repeat-ride products. Confirm the details in the app if your trip depends on a particular attraction or admission arrangement.
How to think about each park
At Magic Kingdom, a family with several participating classic rides may find Multi Pass useful. Separate TRON or other Single Pass decisions from that calculation. The Magic Kingdom route groups nearby attractions so you don't waste the time you bought.
At Hollywood Studios, balance headliners with performances. A return window that causes you to miss the show you wanted may not be a win. Our Studios itinerary offers Star Wars and young-family routes.
At EPCOT, long walks matter. Put food and World Showcase plans around your ride windows instead of crossing the park for every selection.
At Animal Kingdom, a safari-and-shows day may justify a different purchase from a Flight of Passage-focused day. Compare the animals-first route before automatically buying every pass.
A family cost comparison
Suppose the app offers a hypothetical $35 pass for each of four people. That is $140 before any extra tax, not a $35 family decision. If only two people want a hypothetical $20 Single Pass, buying for those riders adds $40. These are arithmetic examples, not current Disney prices.
Compare that spending with a shorter ride list, an extra rest period or another use of the vacation budget. Keep the people who don't want the ride out of the purchase unless the product actually benefits them.
Lightning Lane questions
Can we enjoy Disney without buying it?
Yes. Prioritize, use standby and leave room for waits. A longer stay or a less ambitious day can reduce the value of paying for access.
Does a pass mean no queue?
No. You may still wait, and operations can change. Don't schedule a restaurant reservation as though walking into the Lightning Lane means stepping immediately onto a ride.
Should we use Rider Switch?
If someone cannot ride, ask a Cast Member about Rider Switch before splitting the group. Confirm each rider's access requirements; don't assume one person's paid pass covers another adult.
