What's current, and what old itineraries get wrong
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster now stars The Muppets. Disney's official announcement gave May 26, 2026 as its opening date. The familiar characters don't turn it into a gentle ride; read the current height and health advisories.
Muppet*Vision 3D has closed. Don't use it as an afternoon rest stop from an old touring plan. Disney's Monsters and Muppets update explains the change. Use the current attraction directory and app entertainment schedule for today's choices.

Decide how to handle the big queues
Compare standby with the Lightning Lane products for your date. Rise of the Resistance uses a separate Single Pass option when offered; Multi Pass is a different purchase. Check the current attraction list and selection groups in the app before paying.
If you've booked Rise later, use the morning for Toy Story or another priority instead of automatically waiting for Rise twice. With Multi Pass, check for another available selection after redeeming the first one. An early return time can help, but it isn't worth dragging the family across the park for an attraction nobody wants.
For a child who cannot ride, discuss Rider Switch with a Cast Member while the whole group is present. Give the waiting adult a plan and a meeting location. Include the time needed to board, ride and exit when estimating the separation.
Make shows part of the route
Look for performances your group actually wants, such as the Frozen sing-along or Beauty and the Beast. Choose a showtime and work lunch around it. A show can provide seated time, but its queue and surroundings matter; it is not automatically a nap or a quiet room.
Leave time to reach the theater and find a seat. A performance starting at the same moment a distant ride window ends is a conflict to solve, not a challenge to walk faster.
When rain or ride downtime changes the morning, consult the current schedule before committing to another long queue. Keep one nearby alternative that doesn't depend on a reservation.
Lunch without crossing the park twice
Use official menus to compare options near where you expect to be: Woody's Lunch Box for a Toy Story stop or Docking Bay 7 around Galaxy's Edge, for example. Review mobile-order windows before everyone is hungry.
A reserved character meal offers a different kind of break. Use the dining calculator to mark its opening date and protect the meal's time in the itinerary. Don't surround a buffet with tight attraction windows.
If you need a resort return, include both journeys and the hotel room's location. Decide whether there is enough useful time left to come back. Sometimes the better plan is a full morning followed by a resort evening.
Finish with one clear evening choice
If Fantasmic! matters, check that day's performance schedule and allow time for seating and the journey out afterward. Avoid a dinner booking that depends on the show ending at an assumed time. If the family would rather take one final ride and leave, make that the plan.
A show-focused visit, a Star Wars visit and a coaster visit can all be good days. Trying to complete all three at full intensity is where the itinerary becomes fragile.

Are there rides for children below coaster heights?
Yes. Disney's family attraction guide identifies Runaway Railway and Toy Story Mania! as having no minimum height. Still check effects and comfort; Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers have height restrictions.
Do we need a full day?
A few priorities can fit a shorter visit, but major rides plus shows and dinner can fill the day. Start with what your group wants rather than a fixed ride count.
